Welcome to Modern Cupid, a private matchmaking and relationship consultancy service.
By accessing our website or purchasing any Modern Cupid package, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

1. Definitions

  • “Modern Cupid”, “we”, “us”, “our” refers to Modern Cupid (Pty) Ltd, a registered South African company.

  • “Client”, “you”, “your” refers to the individual purchasing or using Modern Cupid services.

  • “Services” refers to all matchmaking, consultation, events, introductions, and related services offered by Modern Cupid.

2. Nature of Service

Modern Cupid operates as a bespoke matchmaking and headhunting agency, providing personalised introductions based on compatibility, values, and lifestyle.
We are not a dating app or online social platform; we offer professional human-led services that rely on the active participation and honesty of each client.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or purchasing a package, you confirm that you:

  • Are 25 years of age or older;

  • Hold at least one tertiary qualification;

  • Have read and understood these Terms, including the Refund Policy and Privacy Policy;

  • Authorise Modern Cupid to collect, verify, and process your personal information for matchmaking purposes.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services.

4. Client Obligations

As a client, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, truthful and complete information during registration and profiling;

  • Submit all required documentation (proof of education, income, employment, identity, etc.);

  • Behave respectfully and professionally towards all staff and fellow members;

  • Refrain from using the service for solicitation, harassment, or any unlawful purpose;

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding other members and matches.

Failure to comply may result in termination of membership without refund.

5. Fees & Payment

  • All Modern Cupid packages are payable upfront and are non-refundable, as detailed in our Refund & Return Policy.

  • Payment constitutes authorisation for Modern Cupid to begin work immediately, including profiling and headhunting.

  • Prices are subject to change at any time without prior notice; however, existing clients will not be affected once payment is made.

6. No Guarantee of Outcome

Modern Cupid provides a professional, structured matchmaking process, but cannot guarantee:

  • The formation of a romantic relationship;

  • The success, duration, or nature of any relationship formed through introductions.

Compatibility and attraction are subjective human factors beyond our control.
Our commitment is to use all reasonable professional skill, care, and effort in facilitating introductions.

7. Confidentiality & Privacy

Modern Cupid upholds the strictest standards of confidentiality.
All client data is protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
We will never disclose your details to another client without your explicit consent.

8. Vetting & Verification

To preserve the integrity and exclusivity of our network, Modern Cupid reserves the right to:

  • Conduct identity, education, and financial verification checks;

  • Decline membership applications that do not meet our standards or eligibility criteria;

  • Terminate memberships where false or misleading information is provided.

9. Events & Introductions

Where events or in-person introductions are organised:

  • Clients participate at their own risk;

  • Modern Cupid assumes no liability for personal, financial, or emotional outcomes resulting from such interactions.

We expect members to treat all matches with courtesy and respect.

10. Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, and materials are the exclusive property of Modern Cupid and may not be copied, distributed, or reproduced without written consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Modern Cupid shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use our services.

  • Our total aggregate liability, if any, shall not exceed the total amount paid by the client for the specific service in question.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or related services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Johannesburg.

13. Amendments

Modern Cupid reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time.
Continued use of our website or services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
